Who qualifies?
Any Maryland resident 18 years age and older and have a qualifying condition, qualifies for Maryland medicinal cannabis. Qualifying conditions include but of limited to cachexia, anorexia, wasting syndrome, chronic pain or severe pain, severe nausea, seizures, severe or persistent muscle spasms, glaucoma, and post-traumatic stress disorder, and other medical condition which is severe and for which other treatments have been ineffective. Any adult Virginia resident with any diagnosed condition can qualify for treatment, as long as the practitioner has determined that you can potentially benefit. Important Information

Maryland

  • State Issued Patient ID Registration is valid for three years (date on your MMCC ID card).
  • Written Certification expires if not used to purchase cannabis at least once within 120-days of when certification was issued.
  • Patients must be both registered with MMCC and have an active certification to purchase cannabis.

Virginia

  • The Virginia Board of Pharmacy registration fee for a patient initial registration is $50 and the annual renewal fee is $50. the initial registration fee for a parent or legal guardian is $25 and the annual renewal fee is $25.
  • Proof of identity with a government-issued identification card (if minor, parent must provide this).
  • Once processing is complete, your registration card will be mailed to the address of record listed on your application. Keep this card close because this is what you will show to pharmacists at our processors so they can help you with your treatment.
Visit www.onestop.md.gov to register as a patient and obtain your MMCC patient ID number (if you require assistance, we are able to help. Please call to inquire.)
Make an appointment with New Era. Bring your MMCC ID number and medical documentation with you to the appointment.
Visit your global Maryland dispensary.

Acceptable forms of medical documentation

Proof of medical condition can take many forms. Common acceptable proof of condition included but not limited to: prescription medication bottles, pharmacy print out, primary care visit summaries, specialty provider visit summaries, imaging reports, urgent care visits, referrals, ER visits, and surgical summaries.

Cost of Service

Medical Cannabis recommendations are $185 with your MMCC ID number. If you do not have an MMCC ID and would like New Era to complete your registration on your behalf, the cost is $200. This does include the $50 state-required, non-refundable application fee. Contact us to get started today!
Schedule an appointment with New Era to discuss your medical condition and to receive a written certification.
Once you obtain your written certification from a practitioner, you will need to register as a patient through the Board of Pharmacy.
After everything is submitted, it may take up to 30 days for the state to process the registration application. Once processing is complete, your registration card will be mailed to the address of record listed on your application. Keep this card in your wallet. This is what you will show to pharmacists at Virginia processors so they can help you with your treatment.
